Dr. Badrul Imam earned his doctoral degree from London University. He also taught at universities in Canada and Saudi Arabia for several years. He has worked and wrote extensively on issues related to problems and prospects of energy resources in Bangladesh. He was a member of the national committee for formulation of coal policy and worked in the national evaluation committee of Asia Energy proposal for Phulbari open pit coal mining. He is active with the National Committee to Protect Sundarbans.

Dr. Ijaz Hossain is a recognized energy and sustainable development expert in the country. His expertise is on energy efficiency, bioenergy, energy sector value chain analysis, energy modeling and planning; environmental management, green development and cleaner production. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the field of chemical engineering with an emphasis on energy and environment both as a teacher/researcher and as a consultant engineer.

From the very beginning of his professional career, he has been very involved in the analysis and study of the gas and power sectors. He is thus regarded as a Bangladesh energy sector expert having wide-ranging expertise. In this capacity he has advised the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources in various capacities. He has worked extensively in air pollution from brick kilns, plastics waste management and GHG greenhouse gas mitigation.

Dr. M. Tamim is a Professor of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineering, BUET, Dhaka. He graduated from BUET in Mechanical Engineering and completed his Masters from IIT, Madras. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Alberata, Canada in Petroleum Engineering. He has research interest in reservoir engineering, petroleum economics and energy planning; development and application of various numerical computer models, reservoir management problems. He also has experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation, energy efficiency improvement and energy related environmental remedies. Dr. Tamim has supervised several M.Sc. Students and published a number of papers in national and international journal.

He worked at different capacities relating energy policy formulation, planning and regulation with all governments since 1995. He took a one year leave from his teaching job to manage the Power and Energy Ministry in 2008 during the caretaker government period. Dr. Tamim is member and the founding Chairperson of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Bangladesh Section and a life Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB)

Md. Shafiqul Islam (PhD in nuclear safety) is a Professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has also worked as Chairman in the said Department. His research interests include thermal hydraulics safety, nuclear security culture, nuclear energy economics, and nuclear energy policy. He has nearly eight years of work experiences on research reactor operation and maintenance activities during his past job at Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC). Prof. Islam is working under various capacities of the nuclear power program of the country. He also provides expert services to the IAEA.
